About Bobby Ball
Hi, my name’s Robert Ball, also known as Bobby.
I was born in a south London hospital many, many years ago. Growing up we didn't have much. We never had hot running water a bathroom or an inside WC till I was seventeen. But like all kids I was never aware that the best years of my life were spent in poverty.
My parents were the greatest and made my childhood a magical experience. I remember the moon landing, Elvis coming back and going, and Eivel Knievel breaking at least one bone. I bought my first bicycle with money earned from paper rounds and collecting scrap metal.
I've been a carpenter a poet, cleared rubbish, fixed roofs, studied homeopathy and written a book no one has read.
I've lost friends, both two legged and four.
I've loved, lost my heart, been a fool, been wise and then a fool again but I have never been tall.
I am however in case you didn’t get it, experienced.
And between all the experiences I've tinkered with music, music that was always someone else's, some other person’s unforgettable lyrics, someone else's masterpiece.
But now I feel qualified to write and sing my own songs.
So with the help of producer and friend Paul Midcalf at Audio Sorcery recording studios down there in Tunbridge Wells I started a new journey.
The US country music genre naturally drew me. The story telling entangled with the never ending American dream is a great place to be and as I listened to the great country artists both old and new I was inspired.
And so here we are, a new beginning a new life experience, a new chapter that I would like to share with you as it unfolds.
